Wow...2 great years! It went by so fast.
Before I start I will answer the most asked questions about life up here:
1. Yes it can get very cold up here!
2. We have seen a polar bear.
3. We have igloos up here but people live in houses.
It's the Friday night after a cool and rainy week in Baker Lake. This summer has been beautiful: the ice finally melted off the lakes by the end of June and I've worn shorts on two separate days! However, the bugs are now out in full force and for those of you who haven't been to the Arctic, this means we are once again house bound until they die with freeze up (September). Most people would argue that Winnipeg has bad blood sucking bugs that come out in plagues but never in my life have I EVER endured bugs like this (and I even was a treeplanter!) YIKES.
Needless to say, I'm sitting inside on a bright Friday night reminiscing on the last two years. One entry could never do justice to our great time here...I really should have started one of these 2 years ago. Instead of writing too much, take a look at our pictures to get a taste of our Arctic experience.
