The next day we stopped in Wushan and got on to a smaller boat to go to The Little Three Gorges. The water here is much more shallow so our "cruise liner" couldn't make the trip down the narrow gorges. The first stop for the smaller boat was clearly a drop and shop stop so I didn't bother to get off the boat. If one more person tries to sell me cheap jade or some ground up donkey dicks, I'd show him what to do with that donkey appendage. The Little Three Gorges is alright, but I was completely underwhelmed by it. I had been on the Li River Cruise between Guilin and Yangshuo and hiked thru Tiger Leaping Gorge already. To top it off, it was raining and misty/foggy/smoggy and you couldn't see all that much. I think I might have a picture of it though. As the gorges narrowed even further, we had to switch even smaller boats where the river guide sang songs for us and let us dress up in the traditional boatman's garb. Of course, I had to take advantage of the opportunity to be a ham

. Besides my 5 minutes of fame at the front of the boat, the ride was mostly uneventful as the top of the boat was covered and you couldn't see very much of the little gorges. We stayed docked in Wushan that night so I figured it would be a good idea to get off the ship and go into town to get some real food and check out the town. Our guide gave us some tickets to a show in town, but when I asked her if it was worth seeing she said no. We hopped on the show bus to catch a free ride into town though and when I saw something that looked like a main area I got up and shouted "xia che, xia che" And a large group of 8 of us got off the bus. My tour guide duties continued as I led everyone to a hot pot restaurant. Unfortunately, I can't read the menu so we had to rely on our American and German friends that have been studying Mandarin to try to order for us. They did a pretty good job and only ordered a couple things that weren't edible. The rest was pretty good and I kept the beers flowing so it turned out quite well. After dinner, we still had some time so we went to a club and danced off our dinners. The music at first was horrible, but when I asked them to play some house, the DJ did a pretty good job and kicked it for awhile. We were pretty much the only ones in the bar so we had the run of the place. When we got back to the boat, it was time for some more Uno for the kiddies while Helen and I played some drunken chess for a change of pace. The night got a bit ugly after we finished playing chess when some of the Chinese guys came and joined us. After a whole host of "Gam Beis" Annabel and I called it a night, but I think Helen stayed up with them all night.
