So we finally got out of Poland! Took us much longer than expected, but loved every minute of it! We met up with Kasia and Sean in Warsaw. Had a sweet BBQ with some of Sean's school-chums, and even met with a fellow ex-Klohn employee! Weird coincidence. Jackie was in Warsaw visiting Sean. Turns out she pretty much had my desk at Klohn before I came. Those two crazy animals are off touring Croatia, Serbia and India now. Good luck!
North Poland is beautifully flat! Lots of gentle farmland. It was nice to suddenly be cranking out 130 km days. Makes you feel like you're actually getting somewhere. That somewhere was Scandinavia as it turns out. After much deliberation, and a couple of coin tosses, we hopped on the boat to Sweden
Had a great time partying it up with the locals in a small town called Susz. It was Polska's first match in the EuroCup. They pretty much got hammered by Germany, but nobody seemed to care. As one pub patron put it, 'Polska is never winning with Germany...never.'
Sad to leave Poland. It really was a country where we both felt at home...on to other pastures now, however (quite literally).
First impressions of Sweden: The praries, windy, cold, expensive, and very, very organized.
