Dave was still feeling dodgy so went to the hospital for some blood tests and another checkup.
After getting the all clear we spent a couple of hours walking around San Jose but nothing was really very captivating.
Seeing as there was nothing more to do in town we decided to plan where we would head to tomorrow. We decided that we would return to Guatemala and try our luck there in a couple of days. The question was how were we going to get there?
Well we could have taken the really cheap slow way by using chicken buses the whole way or we could cheat and take the luxury TICA bus all the way. We chose the later and after the hard travelling to get this far I think we deserved it. So we booked our tickets to leave San Jose To Guatemala City for about $40. This would take us 2 days with a stop for the night in San Salvador again. So with nothing more to do and a 3am bus journey ahead I lazed around for the rest of the day watching movies.
I had come to terms with the fact that I would be heading home in the next few days so spent a few hours trying to find the cheapest flights. It was obvious that the flights were far too expensive from San Jose so I'd have to get a bus somewhere north and try again. The cheapest flight from San Jose to New York was $490 going via Bogata, Columbia!
