I knew I was going to need to stay a couple more days at least so set my alarm for 9 so that I could pay before being kicked out at 10. They still kicked up a fuss about having already allocated my bed to someone else but I managed to pay and left to check out some more of the city.

Decided to walk to the Chinatown area a couple of kilometres from the hostel. Nothing else to do so I took my time. Chinatown in Brisbane is quite impressive, far more so than Melbourne. Loads of colourful archways and it all feels very oriental. Still early morning so everything was closed. Took a stroll along Brunswick Street (seems to be something about Brunswick St and coffee in all Aussie cities) before walking to the Story Bridge. Created by the same guy as the Harbour bridge in Sydney although nowhere near as impressive. Still worthy of a photo though.

Strolled back to the city and back to the hostel. It was only midday and I had seen almost everything in the city, except the XXXX brewery and Koala sanctuaries which I probably won't visit.

Seeing as the Internet was free I emailed every hostel in Queensland that specializes in finding fruit picking work. Lets hope one replies and I start making money again ASAP! With nothing else to see I decided to go into money saving mode so went to sleep for a couple of hours before staying in the TV room until we were all kicked out at 11pm. Well it's one way to save money.....even if I have to watch Blue Healers!
