Been in the Yarra Valley picking grapes now for nearly 2 weeks and the work is starting to really dry up. This week we worked only 18 hours and that is nowhere near enough. One day we only worked for 2 hours which was a joke. So if we don't get any work soon we will be moving on to somewhere else.

Anyway the work really isn't that bad. The weather has been really good for the beach the last 2 weeks (up to 36C degrees) but not really what you want when you are outside picking fruit all day. No matter how much sun cream you slap on it isn't enough and you still get burned. The first week we were working 8-10 hours everyday and got a reasonable pay check at the end. This should keep me going for a few weeks but I'll need to work more. I reckon I'll end up working 6-8 weeks in total before I have enough money to leave the country. The main expense is still accommodation and I'm hoping for some dirt cheap on site dorm rooms when I move to a new town.

I've actually enjoyed my time here, mainly because the people at the hostel are a great bunch. The hostel is a bit strange and has loads of stupid rules but I'm ok with them. The only problem has been when we had to get up before 6am and the power was still off so I couldn't get any toast for breakfast. But overall it's been a great laugh sitting around chatting to the people and playing loads of free pool. Couldn't stay here for ever but it's not been as bad as I thought it would be.
