Decided to get out in the town today and see a few of the sights, although there wasn't too much I really wished to see. So I figured I should pay a visit to the CBD and checkout the big buildings. Always like seeing tall buildings but Singapores' seemed a far smaller area than I had imagined. Had to use the immaculate subway to get there and was surprised that there weren't TV's on the trains. Japans' rail network is still the best although Taipeis' was very close.

Sat around by the river drinking a coffee and admirring the views of the buildings opposite. Some old couple managed to drop their tray of drinks and they smashed everywhere! Shouldn't laugh but it was really funny at the time.

Spent a while longer walking around the older buildings before hitting the malls for some retail therapy. Well I didn't buy anything but had a good look at PDA Smart Phones and Laptops. Nowhere near as cheap as I had expected it to be. If you want electronical goods then go to MBK in Bangkok. Wish I had bought a new mobile there as mine is totally useless now.

Saw a tall building with funky looking capsule lifts outside so decided to get an overview of the city. Turned out to be the Pan Pacific hotel and the view was really good although the top floor is blacked out so you can't stop there to take photos. Hotel was pretty nice too.

Decided we had seen enough so went back to the river for a really expensive beer. Passed an anti Chinese demonstration with loads of pictures of the Tian'men Square massacre which I found quite shocking and not something I had expected to see in Asia.

Took the train back to Little India and chilled out for a few hours before we decided to hit the town in celebration of Lars' birthday. Had a few drinks in the bar from last night before getting hungry and finding a really good Indian. I had watched it being done and wanted to give it a go, so tried eating like all the Indian people do, with my fingers. Made eating far more interesting and made it taste better. Would probably get weird looks at home though.

Returned to the bar to watch Spurs win on the TV and drink loads more beer. Sat around chatting to the gorgeous bar maid before playing some pool with some freaky ex pat guys. It's at this point that the night took a surreal turn. Instead of following the advice of the hot barmaid and going to Ministry of Sound we took the freaky ex pats tip and it was the wrong choice.

When we left the bar it had started hammering it down. Full on monsoon style rain. I had to run back to the hostel and in the 10 seconds it took I got drenched. Entry code didn't want to work and I had to change all my clothes once inside before going back outside to get the taxi. Running to meet the others I slipped and fell straight on my arse and I was in pain for a week after that.

Got in a taxi and headed off to the club. It looked really seedy but we decided to give it a go anyway. Had a 13% Amsterdam beer before entering and it got messy from there. Lets just say that the bar was downright filth and most of the women used to be men. Well thats Asia for you! Lars got slaughtered and we had to drag him out and shoot off back to the hostel in a taxi at 5am. A rather strange but great night out.
