Thinking that we had pretty much exhausted all the options in the local area we headed to Kompleks again and got the local bus to the snake temple. Paid over the odds but we had no idea when to get off so it couldn't be helped. You just have to get used to paying more than the locals whilst you are in Asia.

It's called the snake temple because amazingly there are loads of snakes. It was like the temples in China but the incense makes the snakes really placid so that they don't move at all really. I was a little disappointed as there were only a few snakes and they were all tiny. There was also a large snake zoo onsite with hundreds of species of snakes which was far better although far too expensive.

Bused it back to town and headed to Kompleks again which we found out had a far newer section that was much better. Julia went off to watch Memoirs of a Geisha whilst Lars and I played in the arcade, visited every camera shop and spent 40 minutes ogling laptops. Time well spent if you ask me!

Got dressed up in my finest, which means trousers and hiking shoes, before visiting the very posh revolving restaurant near by. Downed a Singapore Sling and enjoyed uninspiring views of the roof and not much else really before returning to the bar and Indian places from yesterday and introducing Julia to the wonders of mutton masala and get this - tandori squid! Was gorgeous!
