Awoke to another glorious sunny day which if anything was actually hotter than yesterday. We had decided to head to another beach and had Occheuteal beach in mind. It was quite a way away so we would need to get a bike there. So I did something I have never wanted to do, I rented a motorbike, well a moped really. A little 125 Honda Dream for $4 a day. I had no idea how to ride a bike, never occurred to me that I'd ever need to learn, so as you can guess I was a little apprehensive to say the least. Did't have a helmet either which was rather worrying!

So watching the two of us bunny hopping away, trying to get used to the accelerator but struggling badly, must have been hilarious! Got to the junction and Dave went flying straight across 4 lanes and ended up on the grass on the other side, much to my amusement! I then struggled round the corner trying to get the hand of the steering but we soon had it sussed. Still set out at a slow pace to start with to get used to the gears, which I found really awkward, especially in flip-flops! Dave was going so slow that I was nearly crashing into the back of him so once on a straight I opened up the throttle and went sailing past him to see what the little beast could do. I bottled out at 80km/hr but I'm sure it could go faster but I wasn't happy to let it!

After that we settled down to a more moderate 40km/hr and tried to find our way. Took about 20 minutes to get to Occheuteal beach and I was glad to get off. Can't say I enjoyed it too much and was glad I managed to avoid burning my leg on the exhaust.

The beach was gorgeous! Perflectly clear water and a white sand beach. I was straight in the water without a moments thought. Yesterday I had almost made the ultimate mistake of wearing my money belt into the sea. It was only when the water was up to my knees that I realised I was still wearing it and there would have been tears if I had lost all my money! I'm sure a lot of people have done it.

After a quick swimI settled down to the job at hand, getting a tan, well at least red anyway! And I did a pretty good job. My back was red raw and my chest not much better. I made a mistake in dropping down to factor 20 too early and now I'm paying for it!

Thought about renting out a jet ski but it was $50/hour! No chance, far too much of an extravagance on my ever decreasing budget! In the few days in Cambodia so far I have managed to blow $200! $140 of this is on food and drink alone! I need to seriously cut back on extravagances if I'm to keep travelling as long as I hope.

At 3:30 Dave decided to get a massage, and no not the dodgy kind! Not something I can see myself doing, especially with the pain of sunburn on my back! Close to 5 we rode back to the hotel. We were like seasoned professionals now and blitzed it back in no time. Even managed to negotiate a round-a-bout with no worries and driving on the wrong side of the road was easy.

Parked the bike outside our bar and that was all the riding I was going to do. We still had them until 9am tomorrow but I didn't want to ride any more and anyway someone had shouted my name. Kim and Las had arrived and it was obvious that I would be in no fit state to ride within a couple of hours!

Wedecided to get a moto driver to take us to Serendipity beach which we assumed would be livelier. Can't say I enjoy being on the back of a bike at all. I like it even less when there are 2 passengers!

Luckily we arrived in one piece and set off along the beach to find somewhere to eat. Ended up at some place called the bayon. I had Amock which is some local dish and it was gorgeous!

Fully refreshed we stopped into a bar and sat drinking away and were joined by an Aussie girl called Isabelle Next thing we knew it was 3am and we were all trashed. Got a bike back and watched a bit of the Man Utd game before heading to bed in a state.
