Got up fairly early to get out of Lijiang. It had really disappointed me and I just wanted to escape and Dali seemed like salvation for a couple of days. The bus ride was fairly uneventful and took about 5 hours in a minibus. We checked into the No5 Youth Hostel which looked really good. An old converted school and it was pretty cheap. No electric sockets in the room though.
Felt like doing nothing again so went to our faithful friend, the net cafe, and stayed for hours before finally succumbing to hunger.
I don't really know what it is with youth hostels here but they are all crap! We got back at 10pm and everything was closed! The whole reason we went to the hostel was for a good atmosphere but obviously not in Yunnan as it was equally as bad as the hostels in Lijiang.
