Alarm went off 2 hours later in order for us to get ready for our flight to Zhongdian. Felt surprisingly good although a little foolish. We had the buffet breakfast before getting the bus to the airport. Jesper wasn't feeling good and had already been sick before getting on the bus and continued to do so for the 90 minute duration. During the bus ride I had the worst heartburn ever, which I put down to the malaria pill but it subsided by the time we arrived.

The flight to Zhongdian was awful. I hate the small planes as you feel every bump. Coming into land was a nightmare! There are mountains all around so the turning circles were incredibly tight and constantly up and down. It's the closest I have ever come to being sick on a flight. Dave wasn't so lucky and managed to be sick on the wall and himself! The landing was also stupidly fast. We must have been going about 3 times too fast as we bounced miles back up after the first touch down.

Checked into the youth hostel and went out to explore the old town. Dave stayed behind in bed ill, and not alcohol related as he went home before the clubs yesterday. The old town is very strange. There are loads of new houses being built in the old style and it all feels very fake, like a film set. Every other building was either a hotel or a bar so it obviously gets a lot of tourists during the summer. It was dead now however.

Looking over the city is a massive gold prayer wheel which we can only think is new because the LP neglected to mention it. In the evening we sat around in a cosy cafe and played cards and drank tea all night!
