Where I stayed

Got up early because we were headed back to Lhasa today and I was looking forward to it. We wanted to go early so that we could stay at the Yak hotel again.

All along this trip every other car had something go wrong and I thought, thank God nothing happened to us. I assumed we would have no problems today either as Shigatse-Lhasa is dead straight and fully paved all the way. Wrong!! 20 minutes in and we got a puncture! After all the bumpy dirt tracks and huge potholes we get a puncture on the dead straight, fully tarmacced road! Unbelievable!

To make matters worse the tool needed to release the spare tyre was broken so we had to wait around until we saw an identical car to ours and hope they stopped. Thankfully one did after about 20 minutes and we were soon back on the road again.

Got back to Lhasa at 2pm and managed to secure a pretty cool 4 bed room in the main building. I decided my terra cotta warrior statue had travelled far enough in my backpack now and went to post it home. Lets just say I won't be buying any more gifts! It cost me 11.5 times more to post it home than to buy it in the first place! Probably won't survive the rigours of surface mail either.

To waste a few hours we went in search of a net cafe. Found one down a side street and whiled away 4 hours before going to a pretty cool restaurant, Naga, where you had to sit cross legged on the floor. Pretty cheap too.

We felt like playing some more darts so went back to the hotel bar. 2 girls were playing darts all night so we propped up the bar and played cards for a few hours instead.
