Panda Visit

Had to leave to see the pandas at 7am so was up at 6:30. They didn't have enough of the cheap dorm beds so I managed to stay in a smaller room at no extra cost! After loads of fuss about people not having the correct tickets we finally got in the buses to get there.
I say bus but they were really transit vans with a few extra seats added. The journey was pretty funny with loads of beeping horns and the usual blind corner overtaking. We even saw a lorry crashed into the central reservation so he obviously hadn't managed the overtaking very well.
I quite liked the pandas although there is only so many times you can watch a panda eating bamboo before it gets repetitive! Still the fighting panda cubs were funny and it took up half a day in a city were otherwise there is nothing to do.
In the afternoon we went in search of some warmer clothes to take to Tibet as it will be pretty cold. Came away emptyhanded as i'm sure i could get stuff far cheaper in Lhasa anyway. To waste some more time we went to a painfully slow net cafe (seems to be the norm in China) before hitting the sack early for our flight tomorrow.
Where I stayed:
Dragon Town
