We headed to a major Japanese department store, Mitsukoshi, because they had a cinema and got some pizza for lunch. The chicken pizza I ordered was very nice, even if it didn't have any chicken in it at all! After filling our stomachs we headed up to the cinema to see what was on, very little in all reality. We settled on watching the next addition of the zombie horror ....of the dead series, namely Land of the Dead. It was a 2 hour cheesefest but it was a funny way to waste a couple of hours.
We headed back to the apartment and made full use of the pool, spa and sauna for the last time for a couple of hours before getting ready for dinner. We were having dinner at another seafood restaurant but this time with the majority of Cindy's family.
There was raw fish again (marlin or shark this time I think) along with a multitude of other fish dishes that I had no idea what they were. It was all pretty much delicious apart from some sour cucumber dish. Even the snails were alright!
Cindy's parents can't speak any English but kept pointing at us and making sure we kept eating/drinking for the entire night. I was stuffed but couldn't say no so kept on shovelling it in.
There was some opera going on in the street outside (weird I know) so we went for a look see. I can't imagine them closing half a dual carriageway in England to erect a stage on which to perform opera at 9pm but it is obviously the done thing here. We weaved our way through the moped riders (for everyone drives mopeds here as you don't need a license) for a decent view and tried to figure out what was going on. It was in Taiwanese so even Graeme and tim had no idea!
Across the road was a rock bar so we headed there for a couple of hours listening to classic rock anthems and played some darts! There was also a girl there wearing a Taiwan beer dress trying to push the beer to the punters. I thought it was a great idea and it is practiced in pretty much all the bar in Taiwan. Gorgeous girls wearing cheerleader outfit and knee high boots would definitely work in getting me to buy their beer!
After this we headed to a basement club, AD. which played R'n'B all night. Not my type of thing but it was a good laugh anyway. Tim was as usual straight on the dance floor and kept going onto gone 1am even though he had a lecture to teach in the morning. The best thing about this club was being let in free because we were foreign! Gotta love preferential treatment.
Back at the apartment it was a reasonable time in the UK so made a few calls before retiring to bed at 3am.
