Woke up at 5AM to catch the amazing sunrise from our oceanfront balcony on Copacabana. It was awesome. From our left we could see Sugarloaf Mt and the few islands that speckle the horizon. The beach curved around in front of us almost as far as we could see from left to right. There were already people out jogging and biking and a few people that looked like they were just making it home from the night before. I was surprised to see so much activitiy. Even the little bars and juice shops we open, complete with customers. (maybe they stay open all night?) We got some great photos this morning, then back to bed. We spent the rest of the morning stuffing our faces at the buffet breakfast on Copacabana, then to the beach. The beach was getting crowded by this time... it was almost Friday afternoon. After relaxing and swimming in the surprisingly cool waters (really refreshing) it was time to take a few last minute pictures and to say goodbye to our comfortable room and A/C! Took showers and checked our bags We headed out for some last minute shopping. We bought a few postcards and felt that we needed a couple pairs of Havaianas Sandals since we are in Brazil. We were soon out of time and headed back for our bags. Lyn suggested we take a taxi, but I figured that we had an hour to get to the Novo Rio bus terminal. No problem, right? Well, we had no problem hopping onto the 126 bus (except for those stupid turnstiles.) You see, all the driver does is drive. Behind him are two sets of seats, then on the right is a lady sitting sidways who collects the money and lets you pass through the turnstile. The passage is narrow and the railings are high. We have to take of all our baggage and pass it over by hand and make our way to seats near the exit door all the way in the back. A real pain in the neck in 90 weather! We were on our way. Luckily we made the trip the day before to buy our tickets to Iguassu. We knew the route, but didnt figure ojn the Friday afternoon traffic. We were really sweating it as we sat in traffic. We arrived at 2:34 and made or way to the platform. Luckily the bus was waiting for us. (Otherwise, we probably would have lost our tickets... 90 bucks USD EACH!) The bus ride wasnt bad considering it was 23 hours. (Although, it did not include any food, only coffee and water, no blankets, no pillows and the movies... when they worked... were in Spanish with Portuguese subtitles, this coupled with the two unattractive lesbians next to us, that could not keep their hands off of each other made the ride seem alot longer than it was.

Arrived in Foz de Iguazu. Took the advice from the tourist office and booked in at Pousada Evelina. Lyn, Me and a Canadian named Rich we met on the bus hopped in a taxi and arrived at a nice B&B. Welcomed by Evelina herself who was giving some tips to other tourists in Polish (she speaks seven languages!) She is an energenic woman who has a really nice place. Huge gate across the driveway makes it feel safe, the rooms are immaculate, there is an outside kitchen you are welcome to use which overlooks a trapical garden and the swimming pool. Lyn and I got a double for 30 Reals apiece and Rich got a single (which is really a double) for 45 reals. Walking distancs to several restaurants, two grocery stores and several boutique stores. AND it is just 60 meters off the road that takes you to the falls! We all went out for lunch and ate way too much. Lyn and I wenty for cash and returned to the Puosada for a swim and some Marco Polo! We are going to lay low tonight to rest for tomorrow. Although Evelina offered to take us to the Casino over in Argentina for a few hours if we were interested.
