Once we took of we started to watch a few movies, then dinner was served.  I would say this was one of our better meals.  We had pasta with a mushroom and eggplant sauce, cucumber salad (just like my mom makes), a roll and dessert.  Topped off with a glass of wine, I thought for sure I would get some sleep.  But no neither of us were able to sleep.  We think we were just to excited to get there that we couldn't sleep.  So after a 7 hour flight and still wide awake we finally landed in Melbourne.

Once off the plane we headed straight to customs, we marked that we had wood.  So we were directed to go through another line.  Around the corner to our amazement were x-ray machines.  We have never seen this before, but luck for us we had a lady waving us through.  She asked what we had with us, we showed her the wood and then wanted to look at Roberts bag, which we were fine with.  No realizing that after traveling for 4 months we had a little food in the bag, nothing on the signs that we are not supposed to bring into the country though.  She found a bag with some cans of tuna, which she said was OK, but then reprimanded us that if we went through x-ray we would be paying for everything we didn't tell them about.  She said you even need to tell them about lollies (candy), which we thought was a little crazy.  But what could you do.

Soon we were off and upstairs at Baggage Drop Off.  We finally made our way into the terminal, it was freezing like winter.  Everyone told us the Melbourne could have 4 seasons in one day, but we  couldn't believe it.  The gift shops were loaded with Australia and England Cricket Items already for the Ashes Tournament, they were.

Since we landed so early 6:26, now 7AM, we decide to take a nap since our flight wasn't until 10AM.  Thank god Bart moved and kicked me because I sleep through 2 announcement of flights that boarded from our gate and we didn't want to miss our flight.  With in 20 minutes we were on the plane and off to Brisbane to meet the Bartorillo's.

Travel Tips:  Make sure you declare everything even if you don't feel it is necessary when you arrive in Australia.  No milk produces, no tea, no meat, no eggs.  Chocolate and candy is fine, but make sure you tell them you have them.

Airport Tips in Melbourne, same line for check-in and baggage drop off.
