Caught the 9am bus from Palermo to Catania, a whopping €12.50 each! (Thanks to Lyns cugino Stefano). Checking out Catania today and renting a car tomorrow to see some more. On the local news they reported that Etna is flowing once again and we are hoping to get some good photos for you. We arrived and looked around Catania a bit. Made our way to the more familiar part of town, in front of the Duomo. We followed Via Etna down through the large fish market near the Hard Rock and found the Algora hostel. Everything was so dark almost bleek. We got a room to ourselves and poked around a bit. Lyn asked about the underground stream. We were taked down a few flights of stairs to where they have built an underground restaurant and there, below it all was a stream meandering its way through the rock. It was all lit up and was similar to being in a furnish cave. Pretty neat atmosphere.

Thank GOD you werent still in Rome. Did you hear of the recent tragedy - 100 hurt and one killed in a subway crash? How tragic. So horribly sad.
Who from our/your family did you get to visit so far in Italy? How are they? Hope all is well. Please get pictures of them.
