Arriving in Palermo Sicily

Palermo
Thursday October 5th 2006 Arrived in Palermo around 6:30 or 7am. But we had to wait until 8am to disembark. We hopped off the SNAV and started walking (in the wrong direction) after a few minutes we realized we needed to turn around. No problem we were back on track. I am guessing that it is about two miles uphill from the port to Stefano and Nellie's house. The packs sure got heavy during that time. But we were glad to see a familiar face and know that we would have a more relaxed itinerary for a month. Went for a ride w/Nellie and picked up Irene fro school. We had a bit of a nap and headed out to a function... Stefano was have a 'congress' of all the heads of the medical field of Sicily and we were off to a fancy old aristicratic house by the name of Villa Niscemi.

Hey Lyn & Bart looks like you are having a great time. Lyn I miss ya! Email me when you get a chance. Everyone is doing well. Mary is crawling, Megan is same old Megan, and Joe is crazy with football. Wilkes is 5-0, so he is pumped. To me that means a longer season! Have fun!
