rriving in Madrid's Charmatin Station at 9:20 am. Tired and a bit cranky we disembarked from our overnight train from Paris. Happy to be off the train and anxious to see Spain, we headed to the 'Tourist Information Office' within the train station. We decided to check our big bags into storage and hit the city on foot with our daypacks. We strolled along taking it all in... the sights, the sounds, the whole atmosphere. We walked to the Palace, home of the Royal Family of Spain. Behing the palace is the huge palacial gardens which are open to the public. We decided to stop for a small picnic among the fountains and roaming peacocks.
