We arrived into the night before at 10:30 and got up fairly late in the morning, but we didn't have anything we wanted to see in particular, all we wanted to do was relax and enjoy the beaches of Nice. The Nice beach strip to me is probably about double; maybe even triple the size of Bondi Beach and the colour of the water was aqua. We headed for Parc de la Colline, a park on top of a hill which had a number of viewing platforms with sweeping views of Nice and remains of a ruined Roman city.
In comparison to the other beaches we have seen in Europe so far, the water looked cleaner and but not as calm. The only thing we didn't like was the pebble ground on the beach, which made entering/exiting the water and getting comfortable for sun baking a challenge. The beaches is Nice are split, public beach (free) and a private beach exclusive to hotels for their guests.
We spent the rest of the day on the beach, which was mainly populated by senior citizens. At night, we went for a walk along the boulevard where the majority of restaurants, bars and cafes are and had dinner in of the restaurants. Most of the restaurants had the same menu comprising of pizza, pasta and omelets.
