An hour and a half long bus ride from Frankfurt central train station to Frankfurt Hahn Airport, we boarded our Ryan Air flight to Barcelona (Girona Airport).  The Ryan Air seating was a little more squashed than usual.  We flew in a 737, which had 34 rows of seats, in comparison to Virgin Blue which use the same planes, have 30 rows.

We arrived earlier than expected into Girona Airport, Ryan Air quickly kicked off their passengers and soon after, the baggage carousel had started, we collected our bags and were ready to roll (that whole process took no longer than 15 minutes).

Girona Airport was an hour bus ride away from Barcelona, which wasn't too bad.  We checked into our hotel, dropped our bags off and headed straight out for site seeing Bel and Arc De Triomph

First stop was Barcelona's Arc De Triomph, which was situated at the beginning of a path we walked down and led us to, Parc-Dela Ciutadella.  This is a park which hosts the Geology Museum and the Barcelona Zoo.

It was such a nice afternoon and decided to make the most of it and headed to Port Vell.  Port Vell is the oldest part of the Barcelona Harbour and housed some of the biggest yachts I'd ever seen.  Belinda and I then had tapas on board on of the boats.

Las Ramblas was the next stop, and came across a 100 metre high monument dedicated to Christopher Columbus.  By the time we got to Las Ramblas, it was 8:00pm and it was jam packed.  Las Ramblas is a strip buzzing with markets and restaurants.  The strip seemed to stretch for at least 3km (at least it felt like it).
