The Gili Islands, a small gathering of three islands off of Lombok.  Known for their natural beauty, lack of  cars and old charm.  also known for the absence of any police, the prevelance of marijuana and magic mushrooms!  Every cafe openly advertised magic mushroom milkshakes, and every member of the bar staff pestered you for whether you wanted weed.  After 600 offers a day, it does get a little tiring!!
Still this island had amazing beaches, crsytal clear water and a completly encompassing relaxed vibe.  We sourced out a great little cottage near to the beach (which is really everywhere on this tiny island) with AC this time, and a very strange outside bathroom.  Not like the old Victorian england out in the cold, stone cold toilet seat type.  Literally outisde the back door, high walls surrounding, was a bathroom that was complete and very nice, it just looked like someone had forgotten to put on the roof.  Secondly, and prehaps the oddest of all, no fresh water.  Have you ever taken a salt water shower?  Its weird, very weird.  After getting out of the sea with salt all over you, you jump in the shower, and get out with salt all over you.  Brushed your teeth using salt water?  Dont bother trying, its not nice!  This were minor problems though when everything else was so damn chilled out.
We decided to take bikes out around the island and stumbled upon a deserted bar in the middle of nowhere with no one about but awesome views.  Treating the place like our own, we spent some time relaxing (shock!) and investigating.  Some devious bugger had removed the booze!
Relaxation over, time to hit Down Under...
