Where I stayed
A few days of R n R in the Visayas, the islands located off the main coast of the Philippines. There is so much to choose from here with white sands, big blue skies and crystal clear, fairly warm water.
Not much to report, as you can imagine, we slept, we ate, we sunbathed and investigated the nightlife. Its quite touristy, with quite a few americans, but its more than possible to find a quiet spot on the long long beach. If not, we retired to our beach bungalow, complete with hammock, and a floor made out of bamboo you could see the floor underneath through. Weird noises at night, not just the drunken yanks, but otherwise just what we needed before launching onto Java.
What we didn't need was a mammoth 36-hour journey to get to Jakarta, via boat, ferry, bus, ferry, bus, 14-hour wait in Manila airport and finally plane. Taking the ferry, we were the only foreigners on it, and it was real rough and ready, sleep on the floor type. But we got through it....
Sit back and enjoy the photos...
