Left the craziness of Hanoi for a couple of days on an old junk in Halong Bay.  This place is pretty amazing.  Its like the setting to 'Man with the Golden Gun', huge limestone cliffs rising out of a green sea.  Plenty of caves and amazing lagoons, fantastic swimming and general watching of the scenery.  Unfortunately it is a little bit touristy but you can't help that seeing as its in the middle of the sea and the only way there is on the charter junks.

We met some awesome people on the boat, ozzies and an american, and we have hooked up to go down to Hoi An.  Tough choice for us though: 18 hours on the cheap sleeper bus or 12 hours on the expensive train?
What price comfort?

We're off to the train station to check on prices and maybe visit the a local establishment known as KFC where we're told they serve local fayre such as the Zinger Tower Burger...when in rome.
