There are amazing differences between the Countries in South America.  In Chile you have a very developed country leading into Peru and Bolivia which are third world in some respects, back to Argentina and now Uruguay which we have really been surprised with how developed they are.  We had no idea really until we got here.  This town is just another example of this, a little gem of a place that you could easily spend some time in.

The town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  It was founded by the Portuguese in the 16th Century and its looks just the same as if was built back then.  It is a boat trip from Buenos Aires that a lot of people make everyday.  Seemingly a lot of Argentinian young people head to here to drink as the age limit is lower.  The streets are cobbled with low rise buildings and mad sights dotted all over the town that you just have to laugh at (see the photo of the tree growing in the car!).  Even the restauranuts are a bit nuts.  One night we had a meal where the waiter dressed us up in hats and then he came back to the table dressed up aswell with a puppet dressed the same as him.  Totally nuts.
