Flew in to Nikolofo. Had to spend the night there before flying up to Vava'u. Nikolofo is a HOLE. Not helped by the fact that the locals rioted and burned down a nuber of buildings, 6 months ago. Didn't see anything else it was dark and flew out at 5am. Except of course the room I stayed in which is probably the worst I have ever seen.
Finally arrived in Vava'u. Very pretty place, but the people didnt seem too friendly. Maybe I was just comparing it to Fiji, but Tonga overall was a bit dissapointing to me.
Only went out for 1 night to explore another anchorage, which did produce this photo.
Had some dinner at a quaint little spanish restaurant there. Otherwise, time was spent on a mooring fixing boat issues.
On the last night we went out to a 'show' this turned out to be the Vava'u gay society's drag show, or mincing swerver show if your scottish. Quite amusing in a way, but all got a bit weird in the end, and had to make a sharp exit, after they had all had a bit too much beer.
Plus someone stole my shoes from right under my nose. Not impressed with that at all, but i guess Im used to it in a way.
The next afternoon we left for Niue.

The photo of the moon and venus is a stunner. Well worth the cost of replacing any shoes that were previously in your possession.
