Astoria Column on top of Coxcomb Hill has a 164-step spiral staircase to the top for panoramic views of the entire area—city, rivers, mountain ranges. The artwork on the column is Sgraffito (combines carving and painting into the concrete).  Nice picnic area for lunch; best view in town.

Pier 39
:  Lots of sea lions making all kinds of noise.  Watched them while we waited to ride the historic trolley.   After a while, some people told us the trolley broke down earlier—darn.

Drove around looking at the beautiful Victorian homes; Flavel House really grand.  Saw the home used in the "Goonies" movie.

Stevens State Park in Warrentown:  A ranger was at the beach telling about some of the ship wrecks in the area they call the “Pacific Graveyard.”  Some of the remains from the Peter Iredale wreck 100 years ago are still scattered along the beach.  At low tide, you can walk to the structure.

SEASIDE is crowded with people along the shopping/restaurant area downtown.  Cute star fish on the light poles, especially at night.  Nice wide, sandy beach with lots of activity--volleyball.  Great walkway along the beach they call the “Promenade.”    Nice bronze statue of Lewis & Clark and Lewis' dog Seaman to commemorate their journey is at the center of the Promenade’s turnaround.  Great place to watch another sunset.
