Copper Center - Klutina River
Continued north on the Richardson highway through the Copper Center Loop, which has a nice view of the river. The Tok Cutoff road was really, really bad—roller coaster, gravel, and construction.
Wrangell Mtns
There were great views of snow-capped
Cobb Lakes.
Wrangell Mountains and lots of fireweed down the roadside hills. The Sourdough Campground has nice camp spots; lots of trees.
Tok Sourdough RV
Had their dinner—reindeer chili and corn chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. The bread was wonderful but there wasn't enough of the chili or corn chowder.The nightly activity is a pancake toss. You get two tries to get a pancake in the bucket; the prize is an all-you-can-eat sourdough pancake breakfast. Neither of us got our pancakes in the bucket, but it was lots of fun and laughs.
