The day I ate a Spider

Today on the way to Siem Reap, we stopped at a little town called Skoun, also known as Spiderville. The local delicacy is of course, spider. Very similar to a Tarantula. As you know I am up for anything, so after a few puffs of breath and a little bit of encouragement, I pulled of a leg and munched away. A little marinade, a little crunch and a few hairs tickled the throat, but it was all good. Biting into the head was quite meaty and nothing like I expected. Much to my amazement some of the other girls decided to give the legs a go too! I followed this with a cricket, which was not as crunchy as the grasshopper I indulged in in Chiang Mai.

Good you Rani! Why doesnt it surprise me that you would be so adventurous to eat a spider? I think I might have tried a leg, but might have drawn the line at the head. Ergh! Cant wait to see photos!!!!
