We then visited a Shinto Temple and saw offerings of sake. We wished someone would offer us sake.
On our day trip to Nara, we first stopped off at a Buddhist Temple. This was the same temple tour we've taken in other places, but the difference is that there are deer everywhere as tame as cats. When we arrived there was this woman that was just talking on her way up to the temple and never saw a deer creep up in front of her - she shrieked! These deer would let you pet them, cuddle them, hug them insofar as you gave them food. They only wanted food. No food - no lovin'! Very different to see deer that tame. Some of these deer had their horns sawed off. It at first seemed a little cruel, but after one started head butting us for food, we were grateful! At this temple was a large post with a very tiny hole through the bottom. It's said if you can fit through the post, you'll reach paradise. We've, however, already been in paradise time and again on this trip.
