The next day, we went to Bangkok for one more day to hang out. We were excited because we thought we would have all day to get one last experience of all of our favorite things we did last time we were in Bangkok. We also wanted to fully take advantage of all the amenities of the Hilton Millenium hotel. We sprung for one of the nicer hotels in town, which was about $150. It was our luck that the train was 3 hours late arriving and we didn't arrive to our hotel until afternoon. We had a chance to get our welcome drink, check in, and get a free beverage at the top of the hotel at their 360 degree sky bar. Thereafter, we headed out to the mall to get some stuff we needed. We ended up catching a movie before we left - which one? - the new "Bangkok Dangerous" movie with Nicolas Cage, of course. It was cool seeing all of the sites that we had been to in the movie. The flick was a pretty accurate representation of a Bangkok experience. After the movie, we had to rush back because we needed to make it for free cocktails at the top of the Hilton. We barely made it for a half an hour before they shut off. It was a great spread of vegetables, dip, chicken wings, and other appetizers along with a full bar with beer, spirits, and wine. We did a lot of damage on all of the free stuff in the half hour we were there. I think the staff thought we were the Clampetts or something. We had a laugh of it. After getting the executive treatment, we went down to get a bite to eat in their steakhouse. They supposedly were famous for their steaks but, obviously, they had never tried a Nebraska corn-fed steak. You don't get too much of that in Thailand. They did have Kobe steak from Japan that was $153. The description of how the cow is treated was comical. Look at the pic to the right. They treated it like royalty - I don't think Paris Hilton's chihuahua gets treated as well. The next morning, we work up early because we never had a chance to check out the infinity pool at the hotel. So we ran down there early in the morning and it was definitely one of the cooler pools we've seen on this trip. It had sweeping city skyline views and an infinity effect where the water looked like it was spilling into the skyscrapers. Also, the lounge chairs were IN the water so you're not lounging around the pool you're lounging in your chair IN the pool. That was really unique. Also, it had a beach in the pool area with sand and the whole bit. Overall, this hotel was one of our favorites of the trip and the next time we're in Bangkok that's the one we would stay at.
