All things considered, the tour guide in Fez was not the best ever. He kept on insisting on taking us to a specific place for lunch (tour guides normally get a free lunch if they bring their clients to certain restaurants) and that there was no McDonald's in Fez. Interestingly, after the tour we went to a restaurant that was red and yellow served something called a Big Mac and had this big-shoed clown guy named Ronald outside.

In the 'souk' market, we got to see multiple artisans at work. We saw carpets being made, linens, metal lamps, silk, pottery, hair pieces made out of bone, swords, and the famous tannery. If you're a fertilizer aficionado or live in the sewer you would definitely appreciate the tannery and have respect for the tannerists that sludge animal byproduct through leather all day long to make us the fantastic purses, bags, jackets and belts that we use and enjoy everyday. Be reassured that the leather you wear has been marinated in the finest manure this world has to offer.

The guide told us that we couldn't miss the highlight of the tour - he tried making us pay for entrance although it was included. It was a mosque. My one regret on the trip in Morocco was not seeing more mosques. I don't think you can ever get enough mosque sightseeing.
