First and foremost, the leaning tower of Pisa is not leaning if you lean when you look at it. It's upright in that case. Other than that, it is a pretty remarkable spectacle. One of the nicest monuments we've ever seen. Interestingly, when walking up the stairs you have to lean - the stairs are not even straight.
After walking up the exhaustive flight of stairs we got to the top but were missing someone. We look back and Marilyn is standing there clinging to a post inside the tower holding on for dear life like a massive earthquake had just hit. We started egging her on and then the security guard proceeded to get her and bring her up. By this time, everybody was looking on. Eventually, Marilyn mustered up the courage, closed her eyes, and rose to the top of the tower. Everybody started clapping when she finally got to the top to congratulate her for her bold accomplishment. Good job Marilyn. One bold step for Marilyn, one giant step for height-o-phobics.
Marilyn also was able to purchase the designer purse she was always looking for - a Prada bag from a guy that wouldn't leave us alone. I think they were authentic because the guy was being very sneaky when he was selling them, which was probably the official way Prada sells on the street to create exclusivity. At any rate, the zipper broke the same day, but I think that bag came with a lifetime warranty - you got that salesman's business card, right Marilyn?
