Amboy

We left Gar's around 9:15 and headed to Amboy. We officially got on Route 66 in Amboy. There isn't much left there other than the crater. The surrounding area is cool because there is a dried out lake that has turned white as snow and a lot of what looked to be lava rock. Roy's Motel Cafe was a big stop back in the day. It would have been very cool back then. Roy's is a very cool looking building, some cabins and the motel. Across the road is a church and the post office. An oasis in the desert with the big neon Roy's sign. Amboy has been bought with the intention of revitalizing it but the process has been bogged down by the government.
