Amy and Gar got in a bit late on Friday so we visited a bit and called it a night. On Saturday, Amy got to see the studio and the progress that has been made. She's getting eager to start planning how to finish the room. After the tour, Amy and I headed to get some late lunch and hang out. We found a great little place called the Crossroads Cafe. Gar wasn't able to make it because he had to rehearse for his gig at Pappy & Harriet's. It was another excellant show with an added bonus. Gar broke out his new dobro. Hopefully, you know what it is because I wouldn't be able to describe it very well. All I could say is that it looks like a guitar and is common in country and bluegrass music.

That night we headed to the Groves theatre down the street to see if they had any seats available for the show. It was close but we made it in. The show was War of the Worlds. It was about the radio broadcast and the panic it caused but that wasn't the story of the night. Gar was able to meet some of the people from the theatre. One of which was a director. She is going to direct 12 Angry Men which Gar loves so she asked him to try out. As Amy said, "A Gar is Born". The title of this entry actually came from Gar himself. Amy, of course, was teasing him about being discovered to which he responded "Big Gar in a little Pond" No guarantees because he's busy and only said he would consider it but the theatre only seats 20 or so people and we are a big family who likes to travel. You do the math.

On Sunday, Amy and I went out to eat at Crossroads again then head in to Joshua Tree Nat'l Park. Unfortunately, Gar had to work. One of the things we saw was Cap Rock or Gram Parsons' rock. Look up the story behind it if you don't know it becuase it's very interesting. In short, it's a tribute area for Gram Parsons that people come to to pay their respects. After this we headed to Keys view. It was very impressive. You could see forever. We were able to see a mountain that's actually in Mexico. We came at a perfect time because on the way out we saw an incredible sunset. The sky turned a shades of pink and purple.
Tonight we went out to eat with Gar's neighbor Victoria. We went to Stefanos which is an Italian restaurant in Yucca Valley. She doesn't have family around and couldn't do anything for her birthday so Gar asked her out to celebrate. When we got back, it was time for Amy to head back to LA so we said goodbye and I sat down to do the update.

Not sure what the plan is this week but Myron will probably be here on Wed or Thurs. There is a little more framing left in the studio so I'll finish that up and let you know what happens next.

Is there a cougar stalking John as her prey?
Things are getting hot in the desert! Gar providing mood music.....John gazing in to the eyes of his own desert Cougar, a fellow scorpion no less. Myron will be on his way out there soon. It is getting cold here so enjoy the last few days of warmth.....xo...J
