I'm actually updating this on Monday because Saturday and Sunday were pretty busy. On Saturday, we went to the swap meet which had some very good deals. Amy was able to find some diamonds in the rough. Later in the day, we went out to visit a man named Garth who has created an oasis in the desert. All sorts of wildlife on the property with aviairies all over the place. There were exotic stones from all over the place along with a small pool and caves. It was a very interesting place with people who were just as interesting.

That night, we went back to Pappy and Harriet's to watch Gar's bluegrass band. They were excellant and  I have video to back me up. We also met Denise. Actually I met Denise. Everyone else had already met. She is very cool and we actually went to her place to watch Amy's videos of Greece. The bluest water I've ever seen and it was only on video. Hopefully,  someday I will be able to make the trip because it looks beautiful. I'll try to do an entry for Sunday later because we are going to get to work soon. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Rockin' the desert
John wasn't kidding; we kept them busy allll weekend long! I don't know about Friday afternoon, but we went straight to a fabulous Italian dinner at Stefano's very soon after I arrived in the evening, and I know for sure that no naps were had Saturday.

From the Swap Meet (formerly an old drive-in movie theater, which plays music out of the old speakers as you browse the offerings), to Water Canyon coffee shop for lunch, to Garth's, to Pappy and Harriet's, and finally ending up at Denise's, it was nonstop under the high desert sun. Everyone was a trooper, and Dad made it everywhere but Denise's, which was too bad, since those two were thick as thieves at P & H's. John got a killer long-sleeve waffle tee at P & H's, bearing their motto: 'RETIRE NOW -- WORK LATER.' It looks great on him. We got one for Dad, too, obviously. More later!

It''s Mom
Tammy finally showed me how to get into the blog.
What a trip! It was a trip I always wanted to take and couldn't have asked for better traveling companions. The sights were even better than I expected.
Looking forward to John's pictures of the progress on Gar's studio.
John - I lost an earring somewhere around the stove. Keep an eye out but no big deal if it isn't found.

Red's Home.....
Love the photos, John. Garths place looks awesome.... wondering about that doughboy though. Did he kill it intentionally?! Gar sounds so good in the video too -- love it! What a voice....
Everything sounds/looks so cool.
Dad's home and doing well with his cats. Last I spoke to him today, he's taking a nap with Lucas --he's probably dreaming about the open road.
