Today was our Big Sarasota Adventure. My husband, Bryan Jr, and I drove to Sarasota to visit Ca D'Zan: The home of John and Mable Ringling and The Circus Museum.
Ca D'Zan is Venetian for House of John. The property overlooks Sarasota Bay, was modeled after a typical Venetian palace, but there are also features drawn from French and Italian Renaissance architecture, as well as Baroque and more modern styles. Ca D'Zan took two years to complete and was finished in 1926. In 1936, John Ringling left the state of Florida, his winter home Ca D'Zan and the lush sixty-six acres it sits on. Most of the original furniture is still in place and now the entire world is able to glimpse a look at what it was like to be one of the super rich of the 1920's.
The Circus Museum was opened in 1948 and has alot of rare circus memorabilia.
This is our last night with Bryan and Jill and we are sorry to go. Not only do we love them dearly, but they were great hosts and we enjoyed staying with them very much.
