Slept in well this morning, until 9.30am thanks to Dad's snoring not being too severe and Maurice not getting up at 6am to have a shower. We decided to take the day fairly easily as we’d pretty much seen all the sights.

We started off by going to the L. Ron Hubbard Museum. L Ron Hubbard was the founder of Scientology and this was where the first ever office was. We got inside the house and were greeted by a woman who asked us if we wanted a tour. We replied that we wanted to and she disappeared only for a man to appear and ask us if we wanted a tour again. A fairly bizarre set of events. This man took us for a tour, was a Scientologist, certainly a true believer. His responses to our questions were mostly gibberish but he certainly wasn’t aggressive towards us as most are when their religion is questioned.  Hubbard is treated as a God-like figure who speak many languages and had ideas that basically improved the thoughts of Sigmund Freud. We took some of the leaflets from the Museum, which gave an indication of their set of beliefs. They were pretty much a forgery of the other main religions without the supernatural component. It is clear that the supernatural components of Scientology are only known by the members on high levels and the foot soldiers like this tour guide (who was 57) know nothing about these supernatural beliefs.  Only with money can you learn such laughable information. People like this man call such things as media propaganda.

After the museum we went shopping, mainly for books. We have so many books now that it’s becoming too much for our suitcases. I also got a nice t-shirt, which I am sure will please Sharyn G.

That night we did something that was very unique. We watched the movie 'Night at the Museum 2’, which is a movie that is based in the Smithsonian Institute which we’d pretty much seen the past few days.  In addition to that we were watching the movie at the Air and Space Museum, so after we saw the movie and the exhibits come to life we could then see those very same exhibits in real life. It’s hard to explain the experience but it certainly was very unique.

Tomorrow we are off to the Big Apple.
