This morning I ventured off to the CNN World Headquaters for a studio tour. The tour features a ride on the tallest escalator in the world which interestingly enough isnt even nearly as steep as the escalators at Peachtree Station. They show you how a new item comes together from initial source report to verification to writing to editing and to producing. The anchor is the last position on the chain and is ultimately the one who is blamed if any of the previous positions stuffs up part of the story. The weather graphics at CNN are incredibly detailed and they recently update from a greenscreen with the graphics added on later to an actual screen with the graphics already on it. The reason? Because you arn't allowed to wear a green dress on a green screen.

After lunch I headed over to the place I was most looking forward to. The wonderful 'World of Coca Cola'. Basically it involved watching a movie that is supposed to convert you to their cause, but of course the choir doesn't need to be converted and I am certainly the Archbishop of Coke himself. After this you get a history lesson and look at how coke is produced. Then you are shown coke from all around the world. Finally and the best part, you get unlimited free coke to try from all around the world. Some were absolutely awful, some were decent, but nothing comes close to the Original Recipe.

In the afternoon I started developing a pretty bad cold and it has taken a hold of me very quickly. I got to the baseball with my energy already being sapped and really couldn't enjoy it fully. The game was between the struggling home team (Atlanta Braves) versus the all conquering New York Yankees. There was a lot of people who have come to Atlanta from New York so it was noisy for both teams. Baseball though is very much overrated. The excitement is almost completely contrived and comes in between innings rather than from the game itself. People come to enjoy the fun of the game, but there is no real passion that we see in English soccer of Australian football. Anyway, Atlanta scored 3 runs early and kept the Yankees scoreless which was an upset yet people wern't overly excited about the score really. I probably would have enjoyed it more had I been 100% healthy and didn't have a man with acute leg tourette syndrome.

Off to Alabama in the early morning on the Amtrak. I hope I feel a little better because I don't have long there and if I feel like this tomorrow I will just want to stay in bed.
