We got our rig looked at by the experts, so to speak, and gassed up Fiona in St. George. Then we returned to our site at Snow Canyon. Everything seemed to work okay, which is a relief.
This morning, Tuesday, we headed out on a circuitous route to Page, Arizona. I say circuitous, since you drive into AZ until you get to not far from the border and then return to Kanab, UT. Then an eastward section on US89A leads one back into AZ. You really have to do it to understand. Doing it more than once doesn't necessarily mean you can have any success. Please don't ask me how I know...
We stopped at Glen Canyon Dam again this year and took a peek over the edge from the Visitors Center. It's a mighty deep hole and doesn't seem to have much water down there. I assume that the drought lurking in this western country has a lot to do with it. We kind of wanted to take a Dam Tour, but would have had to wait another hour, so we left. Patience may be a virtue, but it isn't always practical. Does that make any sense? It did to us, at the time.
We got to our Campground and began to set up and learned, again, how to do the leveling and set out the slide. It's an interesting, albeit, confusing project. The main thing we learned is that it is better to do a "manual" leveling than putting the deal on Automatic. In this manner we can keep the slide out of a "bind." Then, voila, the slide makes a bigger room! If you've never been in an RV with a slide, this may mean zilch to you. But, no offense... It's just how our day has gone. Not a bad day, but a bit more interesting than we had anticipated. The learning process moves us into these situations in life, it seems. Enough philosophizing for now...
By the way, we're back into the land of Mountain Standard Time. These here Arizonans apparently don't cotton to savin' no daylight. We have enough for a while anyway.
We'll head on down to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon tomorrow. We'll have a few days to explore before Lisa and her gang show up. Hopefully we'll locate some interesting trails for a day hike with them. Again, thanks for stopping by to see what we've learned.
