The area hasn't greened-up much yet, but this IS Montana, where spring springs at its own rate. The area looked to be excellent moose habitat when it gets it's act together here. The trails are narrow and go through various trees and bushes, so a moose surprise would be a real thrill.
We got to the Madison River and stopped for a bit to watch the waterfowl and various other birds. There were several magpies, which we haven't seen for quite a while. They frequent our yard at home and are one of our faves.
We had a bit of lunch after hiking a bit over two miles
Just as we were driving to I-15 the sales guy called me and upped the ante some $500 with lots of explaining about how difficult it would be to sell our rig. I thanked him and that ended it. Shorty sighed.
The rest of the trip on US287/12 was a nice ride. Traffic was decent and we had a chance to soak up the view of our favorite summer state. In no time we were pulling up on the south side of our property. Our neighbors, Joe and Joleen, were there, once again, to greet us. It doesn't get any better than that.
After a partial unload, we're settling in in our home without wheels.
I'll post a few more photos of the campground area on http://www.flickr.com/photos/ralphieboyo tomorrow for you to check out. I'll continue to put my summer photos there as we travel and just enjoy our time at home. Our next major trip will be in August/September when we go out to see our daughter, Lisa and her husband, Rich for salmon and blackberries.
Many thanks for traveling with us and helping us to enjoy this great land of ours!
