Shepard State Park is only about seven miles from Pascagoula. It appears to be an older park, in some ways, or just in need of some TLC, which means money. The area here seems to be pretty depressed in places, so the Parks are not where the money goes.
We got the last of two sites available, but had reservations, so no problem in that area. It's a cool evening after the freeze in Florida last night. I expect the same will occur tonight from what weather I've read.
We had Lynn's Super Nachos for dinner. Man I just love nachos! She is a gifted woman, and, she can cook too. How lucky am I? You tell me...
We had hoped to catch up with our nephew, James, but no luck so far. He's had a difficult time since the loss of his son, Matthew. I do hope to see him. He, James, is the reason that we stopped in Mississippi. We'd never camped here, except in James' front yard in 2011. The park has some trails and is close to the Gulf. We'll explore a bit tomorrow, after we fetch the two small rugs we left in the dryer at the Laundromat. Sheesh! That's yet another story.
See you tomorrow with some new pics.
