What I did
On return, Lynn did our laundry accumulation and I hung out at the coach and considered stuff.
We had a great time here in the Keys and plan to make the long journey back in the near future. Our kids were also very impressed with Florida, in general and especially loved the keys. We saw lots of new things and learned a lot about a state that we had barely touched, on our 2011 adventure.
Today we headed back to the mainland and a bit north of Palm Beach. The trip was two hundred miles or so and was our first trip where we were never out of traffic. It was definitely not as harrowing as our trip to the racetrack last week or so, but demanded serious attention from the driver, being me. We survived quite well, however.
On arriving at the park, the real problems began. In spite of having reservations, it still took us over half an hour to get registered. The two gals there seemed to be doing their best, but did a lot of repeating of things and it seemed that the one at the counter had majored in Redundancy. I did meet a very friendly and interesting fellow Air Force Vet from Alabama, who has lived here for many years. We did our share of eye rolling, which helped pass the time. It still took ten minutes or so when my turn finally came. So it goes in South Florida, I reckon.
Our site is beautiful, covered with small white stones and level. It got into the lower seventies today with great sun and the ever-present Florida "Breeze." It's calming now as the sun approaches it setting and is cooling down. With EDT starting tomorrow, we'll have more of what we came here for...Sun. That's a good thing.
Gracias amigos for stopping by. Only one picture today of Lynn and me at our Anniversary Dinner, ably shot by our daughter Lisa. We look pretty dang good, if I do say so myself...and I do. <blush>
Hmmm, it seems the Uploader still isn't working, so I'll try something else. Sheesh!
