Buffalo Tiger Airboat Ride

Our guest Blogist, Joe Guay, has this to offer:

The whole family went on an airboat tour of the Everglades to check out some gators and wildlife. It was run by Native Americans from the Seminole Nation. They were a fun and informative bunch. What a great time it was! We saw three female gators by the dock at the shop hanging around the boats. Then we got started on the tour. The airboats are pretty fast and really maneuverable. They have a V8 engine with a huge fan that propels the boat.  Our tour guide, Fabian, brought us to see a couple of female gators and got them right next to the boat. They were smaller in size than the males, due their age. This was quite evident when we came upon a 65 year-old male gator that was pretty massive. Fabian said he may live to be over 100 years old. He had ground down his teeth as a result of having a taste for turtles. He was a big boy, check out his pictures!

Our last stop on the tour was to an old living spot for the native Miccosukee tribal members. There were Tiki-like huts, one for cooking, one which was a living space, and one that was used for sleeping. The sleeping hut had elevated sleeping areas so nothing in the swamp would snatch them up in the middle of the night. This is, as I call it, gator-on-human crime. After that, we went back to the dock. It was about a 45 minute trip. Fun was had, pictures were taken and gators were respected. Talk to you guys later!

Good job joe! Glad the "gators" were respected and no one fell out of the prop boat! What a great picture of all of your! So glad you are all having this adventure of a life time! All is well here, 'cept for the goofy legislature's antics! Doing some good in any event! Hugs....

Awsome looking trip! Either the gator was upset with you all or begging for food...a little puppy or something---joking of course. Wish I was aboard with you...looks like great picture time. Whose the hatted hippie in the back...oh, that's you Ralph.
