Yesterday, Wednesday, we went into Miami where Lynn had her hair done.  It turned out great, to my untrained eye.  The hairdresser seemed to be a very interesting character, according to Lynn, but that's not my story to tell.  In the meantime, I took Sooby in and got his tires rotated.  I met some very friendly guys at Tires Plus.  They both welcomed me to Miami and were intrigued by my Montana Drivers License with the hologram of the grizzly bear.  We got the items stowed and that pretty much was our day.

The sunrise was amazingly beautiful.  Although we're not in the best spot to see it, I did get a couple of decent shots to share.

Lisa and Rich arrived early this morning, about six thirty AM.  They had a non-stop flight from Seattle, which worked out very well for them.  We decided to drive up north of Miami to Hallendale and meet them at the Gulfstream Horse Race Track.

What an exciting, read confusing, trip that was!  Between the Miami traffic and the road construction, it took us about an hour and a half to travel the twenty five miles.  Sheesh!  It was nothing like driving to East Helena, for sure.  It was great to be re-united with them.  It's been since last September since we were together.

Lynn, Lisa and Rich worked at picking a few winners, while I people-watched.  There's a very interesting ethnic mix of folks down here.  Many are of Cuban descent.  I must say that there are more attractive people here than I believe I have ever seen.  Folks are very friendly and interested in from where we hail.  Montana is a very popular place; especially if you don't live there.  ;o)

Our server, Bryan, was from the Dominican Republic.  He's a student, studying International Business and Accounting.  He did a fine job serving us as Rich bought our lunch.  Thanks again RR!

The horse races looked good from where I sat.  I got a few interesting shots.  It was notable that several black vultures were constantly circling the track.  Did I miss something?  Perhaps they were in search of a fresh corpse from a track loser.  They are most graceful birds and soared without end in the breeze and thermals there.

We left the Hoffmans at about four thirty and returned via the madness of Miami traffic.  Same distance, but add in rush hour and you can guess how good of time we made.  Lots of gridlock and waiting and watching cars trying to maneuver for better position.  Lynn wasn't very enthused about taking the wheel, so I got to drive while she navigated with the Tablet.  That in itself was an interesting experience.  We got home just a bit before the sun slipped over the horizon.  Lynn took a walk on the trail around the park and I stretched and did some exercises to wind down a bit.  Our lunch was a good one, so I didn't eat any supper.  The huge "Thick as a Brick" corned beef and cheese on light rye sandwich held on very well.  Lynn had some clam chowder, while Rich had a Cuban sandwich.  Lisa, the healthy one, had an interesting salad consisting of several wholesome items, which I have chosen to forget.

All in all it was a great day, save the fact that Joe and Mel missed their connection from Helena to Denver.  It seems that their plane left an hour early.  The result was that they were routed through Washington D.C., Dulles Airport, and didn't arrive in Miami until about eight thirty.  We'll pick them up at their hotel in the morning for visit to the Miami Zoo.

That's it for now.  Pics will be on Flickr.  You did Bookmark the page, I'm hoping.

With traffic like that I'll bet you wish you were in a bumper car. I had to drive into San Francisco on Tuesday during the morning rush. Didn't like that at all. Sounds like you all had a good day and will have another one tomorrow.
