I was up earlier than usual today, probably since I hit the sack earlier. Must have had something to do with the long bike ride yesterday.  I did see the sunrise though, so it was worth it.  I did some clean-up chores inside and then tested the new chair for awhile outside in the morning sun.  Lots of birds about and a rabbit visited for a short while.

I decided to get moving and got hooked-up and ready by ten o'clock. The drive is a short one, about an hour or so, but I stopped in Cave Creek, the town, and gassed-up Shorty.  The price, with the Safeway discount, was $3.84 a gallon.  I needed forty-eight gallons for the fill. I'm getting the usual mileage, in spite of the wax-job.  Go figure...

My site is a beauty!  Lots of birds and lizards here.  I sat out in the sun for awhile to get rid of some of the white skin and make my dermatologist shake her pretty head.  I used the phone with the iBird program to call in a Cactus Wren.  I feel kind of bad, since the little fellow flew and ran around looking for a bIrd... I did get a couple of good shots of him returning the call.  Amazing how well the app works.  Before I left McD, I saw a Northern Cardinal and also a group of unknown birds at the feeder.  I managed to get a couple of pics of them too.

It's hot and peaceful here with just enough breeze to make it comfortable.  Shade helps too.  I've got the awning down to help keep Shorty comfortable. It's been about 85 outside since I've been here. It's five PM in Helena now and four, of course, in independent Arizona.

My friend Pete is planning on coming by on Sunday for a visit.  That will be good.  We haven't seen each other, face to face, for about a month or so.  I'm sure his dog, Duffy has grown and is more docile. He'll be disappointed that Lynn isn't here, but there are some treats somewhere around here to help him forget.  Mebbe...

I rode the bike a couple miles around the park.  Didn't even get lost this time.  The sunset was a patented Arizona beauty.  The pics tell the tale...

I'll wait until after sunset to post this, just in case there's a good shot or two to share with you...

What a life
How long are you going to keep on a truckin' this trip?

I've only been there in the daytime and found it beautiful. Looks like I'll have to plan an overnighter sometime.

Once again the wow factor on the picture titled zoomed view. Closeup of the cactus wren is great too. Sounds like a pleasant and slow time where you are at. Our temps here are approaching yours....at least for a few days. The biking around trips sound great...starting to get my yard ready for lots of flowers-though I never know what they are , just plant them haphazardly. You seem to know the name of every plant and bird. take care
