In spite of having a sore foot, I took the bike out for about three and a half miles around the roads in the campground. It's a bit hilly here, but the ride was invigorating and gave me a challenge in finding my way back to the site
I took a short drive into Fountain Hills to shop a bit. It seemed strange to make all of my own decisions, now that Tonto isn't here. I went to the Dollar Store and bought a metal pole to hang the bird feeder and a cheap set of small screwdrivers. I needed both actually. A new experience. Actually needing something... I picked up milk and some wholewheat hamburger buns. Then back to the campground.
I hung out the rest of the day and just watched the clouds and read. One book that I've been reading, "In Search of the Quoz", has finally worn me down. I had to give it up. The author, quite accomplished in verbal gymnastics, went on and on about on and on. I've been reading it for about a month. It was given to me by my neighbor, Chris, over a year ago and I felt obligated, sort of, to give it a go. And it went...
For dinner, I made hamburgers with garlic. Five cloves of garlic and a goodly amount of habenero sauce put a bit of zip into the fare. I added a slice of Havarti cheese to make sure my diet remains balanced. Oh, onions and pickles to add some bulk...gotta have bulk. They turned out fine. "Took the wrinkle out", as my dad would say.
The sunset, although not spectacular, produced some nice effects on the clouds above. I'm offering those shots for your perusal. A nice evening after a warm day.
