Where I stayed
Picacho Peak State Park
We are now at Picacho Peak State Park. This is the site of the northernmost Civil War battle in Arizona. But, I've already mentioned that... The peak is obvious from miles away. It's still a great landmark and has been for a long time. It juts about fifteen-hundred feet above the surface and is very impressive.
After we got situated, we took a little drive to get acquainted with the area
Then, we drove to a Pilot Truck Stop to buy some tickets for the MegaMillions Lottery. Joe said to do it, so to show him "props", aka respect, we made the investment. I'm pretty sure we'll come out very well, since the odds of winning are apparently the same as being struck by lightning twice...in the same day. Who knows? It COULD happen.
I did a little nap and then we cooked dinner. I cooked shrimp on the barby with Lowrey's and a dash of cayenne. These were added to pasta and topped with Alfredo sauce that Lynn came up with. Add a bit of Chinese Cabbage Salad and it was a well-balanced and tasty meal.
The sunset this evening was a good one. The nasty air generated by the citizens of Tucson adds to it. I got a few decent shots for your review.
We'll be here for three nights and then move to North Phoenix to prepare to ship Lynn and her goodies home.
Thanks for stopping by...
