We received a UPS packet while we were gone. It contained some documents that needed Lynn's signatures to complete some action. She signed it and we went into Wellton to drop it off at the UPS store. It was s chore just to find the place. I spent over half an hour on the 'net, but couldn't actually find an address
. The didn't answer their phone. A person at the office at the park gave us a very vague description of the location..."It's across the street from the Post Office and I think it's also a Feed Store." That got us within about fifty yards of the place. Lynn asked in a Mexican Restaurant and we eventually found it. We dropped the packet off to a not-so-friendly guy and thanked him. Apparently he wasn't impressed. He had no answer. So it goes. Maybe he had gas or some such.
We 'll be leaving in a couple of hours to go to the Gila Bend area. It's hee-la-bend, for you Gringoes out there. We'll then spend a few days exploring the Sonoran Desert National Monument. There are several mountain ranges there, so we hope to get in some hiking. The temps are forecast to be in the eighties in Gila Bend...
Yesterday we drove into town and visited the West Wetlands Park. It was really a disappointment to us. The pond area was the most interesting in that several folks were sailing R/C sailboats. The wind was getting a bit wild, so most of them had already taken their boats back on shore. The walk through the "wetlands" proved to be a dry one. It appeared that they were just adding water to the area. Perhaps when the water is in place, one will see more birds. We saw very few and got no bird photos. The trees and bushes were in bloom, however, and we enjoyed them. I did get a couple of photos of them.
