Our friends, Julie and Joe, Aggie and John came up, as planned yesterday.  We had a great time and Lynn's selection of food for our dinner was outstanding, as is usual.  We have a great visit and I learned a lot about travels and life in Philipsburg in the old days from Joe.  Lynn went to school with both of the gals, so they spent most of the time visiting and playing cards.

Then, during dinner, I happened to look out in front of the house and saw a bull moose grazing along the shore.  He was a young bull, with small antlers still in velvet.  I did get a video of him moving out into the water and taking a "personal needs break."  I was a bit embarrassed as I filmed him, but he didn't seem to mind.  The videos haven't been uploading well lately, so I'll see if this one works.

Then, much to our surprise, Lynn spotted a large cow moose with a set of twin calves just behind our place, on Randy's property.  Got some fine videos and stills of them feeding and watching the photog. I find that, as in hunting, just by whistling a bit, one can attract the attention of the beasts.  They are, as you probably know by now, our favorite of God's creatures in North America.  I have several photos of them, but it just dawned on me, none of the folks that visited us.  A shame, but just another of my failings I reckon.  Apologies to our two-legged friends.

We're having more company today, my nephew John and our grand-nephew, from Wisconsin, Zach and his friend Amy.  We saw Zach for a bit on our trip, but today will give us some time to get to know one another more.

It's a beautiful day, or should I say ANOTHER beautiful day, at the lake.  It got down into the high thirties here, but it promises to warm into the seventies and just right for an outdoor visit.  Tomorrow evening our grand-nephew, Dan will be coming to visit us in Helena. We haven't seen him is ages, so we're looking forward to the time together.  Thanks again, for stopping by.
